Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of John Henry Imholte will be at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake, MN on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. John passed away Sunday at County Manor Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer. Rev. Virgil Helmin, Rev. Lauren Germann and Rev. Al Stangl will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Marcus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church in Clear Lake. Waite Park American Legion Post 428 will pray at 5:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6:00 p.m. and Marine Corp League at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Clear Lake. Arrangements are with Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Clear Lake.

John was born on August 1, 1926 in Clear Lake to Leo & Alma (Hilsgen) Imholte. He graduated from Clear Lake Public High School in 1944. John served his country during World War II in the Marines. He married Rose (Klein) Dyson in 1950. She passed away in 1993. John married Lorraine Radziej in 2004. He was employed at Minnesota Correctional Facility for 23 years; he retired as Physical Plant Director. John enjoyed his hobbies of gardening and woodworking. He was a kind and generous man, always helping others. John had a wonderful sense of humor even through his trauma.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Sartell, St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake, Marine Corps League, Eagles Aerie 622 of St. Cloud, Life member of St. Cloud VFW Post 428 and Waite Park American Legion Post 428. John volunteered at St. Marcus in many areas. He was a lector, eucharistic minister, usher and mass server for many years.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Lorraine; daughters, Brenda (Rick) Wile, Jane (Elmer) Schmitt and Judy (Jake) Johnson; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Ellen) Imholte; sister, Bernelda (Willis) Keske; sisters-in-law JoAnne Imholte and Mary Imholte and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rose; brothers, Clarence, Alfred and Philip; sister, Florentine Iten and grandson, Joel Johnson.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Country Manor. Also, thank you to the St. Cloud Hospital, doctors, nurses, family, friends and neighbors for their care and support.
