Born in Elizabeth, MN to Robert and Emily (Haarstick) Rian, She married Charles O. Porter on November 14, 1942. Formerly of the Spring Lake Park/Anoka area, she lived in rural Long Prairie since l987. Earlier employed as school cook staff, she also enjoyed square dancing, gardening, sewing/quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Florence is survived by daughter-in-law Sandra (Charles III), children: Mary Kathleen of Little Canada, W. “Pat” (Marie) of Long Prairie, Dennis (Pauline) of Lawton, OK, and Yvonne (Don) Chamberlain of Brooklyn Park; 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Bernita Rian.

She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck in 2004; two sons, Gregory in 1969 and Charles III in 2008, and her siblings.
